Croquis!

How I love fashion. Here's a link on how to draw fashion sketches. It's handy, especially for posing and bodies, not to mention CLOTHES!

Croquis.
Any way. I have dry skin on my cheeks. I look rather old. Mah. Glamour, must. PURTY. xB Today's Thursday, so I'm going to dance class, but I can't find one shoe. Darn. 'Tis all.

Leyawn.

I woke up at twelve forty five today. Felt nice. Took shower. Went on computer.

UPS is delivering the parts for my computer today. Rosemarie should not be using it any longer. Tralalala. I can't wait until she leaves. She's such an idiot.

HMMMM.

Now. Wedding in october. Didn't caps that. O0ONeed to finish KH2.

Tis All for today.

Oy. Hot here in California, especially in the valley where smog tends to pool. I hates teh roommates. They're stupid, can't write, use simple, uncreative rhymes and sound like every other indie-pop singer on the radio today.

And play one song from my CD without asking over and over, and lose my Oasis disk.

I saw Devil Wears Prada. Fashionfashion. High fashion is so very wonderful. Meryl Streep is so getting nominated for that role, it was amazing. There was another character as well, the designer, who I swear is a brother of a roommate I used to have, George. "Don't give me that attitude, I'll feed you to the models." has to be my favorite of his quotes. Or:

"So do the girls around here actually eat anyting?"

"Not since two became the new four, and zero became the new two."

"I'm a size six."

"Which is the new fourteen."

There are a lot of lines I liked, but Meryl Streep was.... amazing... there. She was a tyrrant all through the movie, and never once did she raise her voice. I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE HER WHEN I GROW UP!!

Book buying on Friday. Getting a lot of novels that have been made into features, and some others. Lovelove.

Posting to bump that awful post down.

My tummy hurts. Kinda hungry.

But to get to the kitchen, I have to walk across the parking lot, and I'd melt. I really would.

EEMED tonight!! ^^ Experimental Bellydance. Which implies free food. And I might be able to get my daddy to take us to Musso and Franks afterwards. Wearing earings and other shiny tidbits in my hair for the occasion. Curled the hair too, but ringlets never stay nice.

Uh, wish I could have a radioshow/podcast. That would be awesome. But I'm so bad about my blog... Dx Darm. Damnanddarnmeetagain.

My harddrive and CD burner are capoot. My father is fixing it, and in a week or so my computer should live again. Thank goodness, my art has changed since I've last posted my DevArt. I hope I've retained my CGing skills, they were just getting somewhere.

Tis all. Food so far:
Powerdrink for breakfast. 16 calories.

Huuuunngrry....

This place needs subscriptions.

Hm....
Posting.

This is a good link.

And, uh. Lessee. It's hot here. Bah. Fifteen pounds until I can eat again. >< It's so much. Dammit. I only have six week until school.

OHIREMEMBERWHATIHADTOWRITEABOUT.

Jennifer's going to get married, I knew that. But I HAVE to go the the wedding. What's the deal? My mom's going, and so is my Godfather. All I do at weddings is color on napkins. But there will be stuffed grape leaves and I love those. I love those so much.

She wants me to be a flower girl. I'd be an awful flower girl... Bumping into pews and things. Hm. Andway. Boredom ensues yet again.

;O

Friends... gurglestupid.
Really, giving up my ticket to somebody else, saying it was because they didn't know if I was going or not, even when I unconditionally confirmed, and expecting me to pay for my own ticket when everyone else didn't, is sort of bratty isn't it?

And then acting completely oblivious? Do they really not see the social fopaux? Or I am just hallucinating the problem here? Well, I'll just wait until summer ends, gnashing at my teeth and see if they say sorry. I'm being spiteful, I know. I'm a horribly spiteful person! D; Get off it.

Arkham Horror was fun. Very, very fun. Played with Avi yesterday, and it took about four hours (I think. I don't know.) but it was still fun. Stats for me are like.... durr.... but I have retained the "Blessing is good. Five and six on dice means I pass." Which is a start! Arkham kind of makes me want to learn how to play D&D, I tried when I was little, but I was, like, little. Yes, we beat Yig, the silly looking elder god. Hahaha.

Roommates. Evil. Stupidstupidstupid. Can I not get away from the stupidity of humanity?! Though, Jackie is moving back in, and I'm very happy about that. Very happy, it means I get to be around an intellegent being more often, with good musical taste. There are so few of those now a-days. Everyone just listens to My Chemical Fucktards and Something Corporate and says it's punk and hardcore. Ick, no.

Okay, now comes music. You know what's the closest thing to "emo hardcore?" Fugazi. I've been studying up on them. They're straightedge, and if you don't know what that means, you're an asswipe. The Clash were punk, so was Sid Vicious and the Sex Pistols. They took full beer cans in the jaw and kept singing and playing. By the end of the first set they were beaten bloody and hadn't left the stage. The Doors completely wore themselves out every night of a tour, and had dialated eyes under stage lights. My God, people today don't know good rock music from Blink 182, or Three Doors Down, or Green Day (who used to be good. Dookie was awesome. When they started out, they meant something, and now, they don't. Every halfwit with a t-shirt is screaming their name.)

And another thing I hate! You may not call yourself a punk, a rocker, an emo. You can't fucking LABEL YOURSELF. Brats, tell me something. What are you thinking when you say "I'm an emo." You know it's derogatory, right? You know people don't like emos, because they whine and are generally self-centered? And rockers are old men on bikes who listen to Led Zepplin. Please.

The Ramones

So, enough of that. Here, I will list bands of Punk Rock. If you don't see your band on this list, it's not punk. DEAL.

The Clash
The Sex Pistols
Black Flag
Circle Jerks
The Varukers
T.S.O.L.
Iggy & the Stooges (Primarily called the Stooges, as well)
Dead Kennedys
The Misfits
Descendents
WIZO
Bad Religion (Later considered Pop-Punk)
Pennywise (Same as Bad Religion)
The Germs

And now, hardcore punk!
A.F.I (Later converted to Pop-Punk sounds)
Marathon
7Seconds
Kid Dynamite
Hüsker Dü (Considered for 3-4 years Hardcore)
Bad Brains
Minor Threat
Agnostic Front
Anti-Flag Dead
Kennedys Deep
Wound
The Descendents
Dillinger Four
Reagan Youth
Circle Jerks

The difference between hardcore and punk is hardcore is faster. That's basially it. Hardcore is not emo, it's punk with faster drums, bass and guitar. Buck wild, shall we say?

SKA punk is......
Operation
Ivy
Rancid (Skeptics say they aren't Punk or Ska)
Mad Caddies
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Mustard Plug

The Stooges

SKA: A musican fusion of jamacian ska and Brit and American punk. Commonly using the guitar, saxophone, drums, and brass. Achieved greatest popularity in the 1990's in the United States. It has it's own scene clothing as well.

Examples of Celtic Punk
Dropkick Murphys
Flogging Molly
The Pogues

Celtic punk is sometimes known as paddybeat or celtcore, and usually associated with Irish Punks, or punks from the other nationalities of Ireland, Scotland, or Manx.

JARETH'S

That wasn't nonsense. ^^
That made PERFECT sense.

I just got back. ITWASSOGREAT.

My father, Chia and I were all color-coordinated, it turned out, and lots of people wanted our picture. There weren't as many Toby's as there were last year, I only saw one, but he kept attacking the faeries and everyone found him adorable. There was a queer-looking faerie boy, and a Captian Hook and smee, and demons and gnomes (I have pictures. I will post them when I get my computer back.) and though I don't think I have any pictures of myself (I forgot...) there are some great ones of other costumes.

I danced some, but that wasn't as fun as last year, because there was no one to dance with me. D; But there were more people who wanted my photograph. I'm really such an attention whore. Chia informed me some guy said I was hot (this made no sense. I had on a full face mask that is completely white.) and he was forty.

Major ew.

I figure my costume was a success. Shoot, it was fun. There was even a V and Van Helsing! Though I have picture of V, because he is so much more important, wouldn't you say?

...I feel giddy still. Wheew. The official Jareth disappeared half way through, and I got no picture. Again. Crappers. That just means I'll have to try harder next year.

Okay, bed time.

Boinga doing.

I've noticed most of my post titles are complete nonsense. OHWELL.

TODAY IS JARETH'S BALL.

I'm getting ready. Whee! I have my black corset, and my petticoats, and my skirts and mask and wig. Without the face/head stuff, I look rather piratey. Therefor, my next birthday party is a pirate party. Oh... excited excited. ^^ YAYS.

Okay, hearts all a-flutter. But the mask shall impair eating a bit. I will have to drink with straws. D;

And BAND O' THE DAY will come back. I promise.

Music time.... MORE!

Got some new CD's a few days ago. Fifteen to be exact. It cost a hundred and sixteen dollars, which isn't bad, they were mostly used or clearance, but I still won't be eating anything except cereal for a few days. Uh, I got:
Fugazi (13 Songs)
David Bowie (can't remember album name. Live.)
Mogwai (THEONEWITHSTANLEYKUBRICK)
Each Other (No album title?)
The Velvet Underground (the Velvet Underground: Live)
The Pixies (Doolittle)
Janis Ian (----)
Laura Nyro (----)
Sex Pistols (Nevermind the Bollocks, here's the Sex Pistols)
Shimmerplant (----)
And.... I can't remember the others. A few of them I went "Ohh, purty album art" and since they were on clearance, I bought them. I bought them all.
Each Other is a really good synth band. I hadn't heard them before, but they were only 2.99 so I got it. Yearly album trips are so great... my mom lets me spend a hundred dollars at ameoba, and I'm happy for the rest of the year.

But Each Other! It was good. Shimmerplant... when the guy sings, it's fabulous. When the girl sings, she writes the songs and it's awful. But half the album is a thumbs up.
And of course, Velvet Underground. It has.... Venus in Furs. Which is the BEST Nico and the Velvet Underground song ever. Ever evers.
Severin. xP

Oh, got 'Faith' by the Cure. Haven't listened to it yet. Will probably review here.

Music Time.

Going to the record store today. I have to pick up David Bowie, Mogwai, Laurie Anderson, the Cure, Empire Records soundtrack, Fugazi, the Velvet Underground, the Clash. I'm making a friend a mixtape, and I actually need to buy the music I want to put on there. I have some of it on computers (at my father's office, or my dad's house or mine.) but I need the discs so I have to get the CD. Yeah, really.

Uh, there isn't any theme, it's "Music you'd like." I hope to have it done by the end of summer. I watched the end of the Great Escape, and now I'm watching the middle. Very good movie, it is.

Uh, that is all.

Oooiga.

I've been away, if you haven't noticed. At my mother's house, where I normally am kept prisoner, in particular. While I was away, as I may have said before, my mother KILLED my computer. My father took it and defragged, CHKDSKed it, but it's still acting funny, so I did another check disk, and it's still repairing. Going to take a while, using my mother's laptop that she got from her school.

Ugh, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was great. The end, oh my God. Bah. I'm tearing up. The third one better have LOTS of Johnny Depp in it.

Oogle. Jareth's ball is coming up. I've given up on the notion of anyone else coming with me, so I'm selling the extra ticket.
That's all for now.

Tata, loves.

Really!

So, I was too worn out last night to post, but here's what I did.

I hung around my dad's office reading and cleaning his desk. Finished Black Sun Rising and made it a good way through Maskerade, a Terry Pratchett book I had never finished. Then went to aerial, then dance, got a burn on my leg. It's ugly. Changed in the bathroom of my gym and went to.... The Visual Effects Society Festival Opening!

That was fun, I met the president of the society when I had fruit gook on my hands. We only stayed for about an hour, but there was free food and really expensive ordurves (Spell?) and a good Jazz band. They had a fabulous keyboard, and the alto sax player also played flute and clarinet.

Instruments were beautiful, had a great tap dancer who drummed. Anyway. After the hour was up, we went to Musso & Franks, an awesome resturant down in Hollywood with real waiters. I had been reading the menu and my napkin was still on the table, we when he came by to give us our drinks (the waiter was this ancient Italian -or something- man, and I got Diet Coke in a tiny glass bottle!) he actually put the napkin in my lap. The salad I got was huge, it came in a plate and on a bowl, and he managed to give the orders wrong to everyone at the table. We waited until he walked away and changed them. But Orson Welles used to eat there, which isn't saying much, and Hemmingway and Faulkner drank at the bar also. Charlie Chaplin was a regular!

And none of this was on the menu, I looked it up, here.

I highly suggest going to this place, it's very "Wow, you've worked here forever!" Almost like that restuarant the family in the Mafia movies own. Which slightly scares me. I think it's been around since 1919.

Okay, going home on Saturday. I have this great new Arabic pop song to show you guys at home. Avi, you probably won't like it as much, but you have to listen to it.

July Fourth. joy.

Diet will be needed. I guilt so easily.
Alright, I guilt after eating anything.

And my friends tick me off. Fireworks are on right now, but I have no interest in them. They're sort of a let down every year. So... whatever.

Okay, fine. I just came back from my roof. I've never watched fireworks from my roof before, we've always went somewhere else to see them. The neighbors came up with booze and a bullhorn, and the people across the street were lighting bottle rockets and and stuff in the alley, and then the Indian restuarant on the corner suddenly started going off in the middle of the speech. Then the neighbors made the Independence Day speech.

A little later my godfather turned on the Marine's anthem and almost blew out his speakers, and there was a shload of people in our driveway watching the people in the alley. Between the Marina and the University and Culver City and the alley and some others, there were fireworks all around us.

It was fun, to say the least. My feet are completely numb.

And side note, the alley people once yelled "THEY'RE COMING!" and everything went off. Really felt devious there. Cops are bad on the fourth. And no one calls anything illegal in.

BAND O' THE DAY:
Jimi Hendrix.
For that rad nat'nl anthem that got everyone razzed up.

LoJ: 13 Days.

Well, doing T-shirts today. Next sunday I'm going to see Pirates of the Caribbean with all of my crew. Except Melvyn, I think, because his grades are his trash and his parents won't let him. I haven't made any more progress on my Jareth's costume, but I feel a lot safer. Though... bah. It's kind of cliche.

Anyhow. Let me tell you how I woke up this morning. I was sleeping, very happily indeed, and then... THE BLACK RIDER ALBUM. Tom Waits was suddenly playing. Thank you father. Wonderful thing to hear first thing in the morning. Not that I couldn't get back to sleep. Probably what he meant to do in the first place.

He had promised not to come into my room and wake me up once summer vacation started, so he has to resort to other methods of child-awakenment.

GOING TO TARGET TO GET KH2!! We went to the anti-corporate game store first, okay? They didn't have it! Dx

Squick. Hello my Riku.

EDIT:
I HAVE KH2!
>bounce<

Band o' the day:
Tom Waits.
Urgh.

Jareth's Ball Countedown: 14 days.

So excited about the ball, I'm going to fall over with anticipation. Seriously, I can't even get my costume done I'm so happy. But I've finally decided what I'm wearing, which is big step up from where I used to be, which was having a mask base.

Now I am the Ethreal (Wuh? Isatt a word?) Faerie of Time and Change! xD Not that I know what that is, of course. It just sounds really cool. I'm going to be wearing a black corset I already have, tall black pleather gloves, a long black wig and a black poofy skirt with my white venetian mask. So I'm very Kabuki-esk, or German Expressionism. I might put false eyelashes on the mask. Might not.

Eeehehe. LoJ. LoJ! Here I come!

Band o' the Day,
Elvis Costello.

No one can sing the word 'Fuck' quite like he can. ;O
